This week we're celebrating Women in Construction Week — a time to recognise and appreciate the incredible contribution of women across our business, from site to office, and across every division.The theme for 2026, “Level Up, Build Strong,” highlights the importance of growth, opportunity and empowering women at every stage of their careers in construction.
Across the UK construction industry, women still represent a minority of the workforce, with around 14–15% of roles held by women and only a small proportion in on-site trades. But the momentum is building. More women are entering the sector, advancing into professional, technical and leadership positions, and challenging the stereotypes that have long defined our industry.
